About Us

Asanti by Koi was created from a place of love, gratitude, and the desire to hold onto light. In 2013, I lost my mother, a woman whose love shaped the very core of who I am. Grief was something I tried to outrun for years, but when the world paused during COVID, I finally had to sit with everything I had been carrying.

Through it all, two lights have kept me grounded. My children, especially my firstborn daughter, Asanti, whose name is inspired by the Swahili word Asante, meaning thank you. She was born just seven months before my mother passed and has walked with me through every season. And the memory of my mother’s love has been a constant source of guidance and inspiration, shaping every piece I create and giving life to this brand.

As a Kenyan woman navigating motherhood, loss, and rediscovery, I needed reminders to breathe, to center myself, and to keep moving forward. So I started creating intentional pieces with the words I needed most. Messages that grounded me. Affirmations that brought me back to gratitude, even in the hardest moments.

Jewelry became meaning.
Meaning became purpose.
And purpose became Asanti by Koi.

Today, every piece we create carries intention and heart. These messages engraved on metal are daily reminders that you are stronger than you know, that light always returns, and that gratitude can guide you back to yourself.
